History of treating erectile dysfunction
The first attempts at treating erectile dysfunction date back to Muslim physicians and pharmacists in the medieval Islamic world. They were the first to recommend pills for the treatment of this problem, and they invented several methods of therapy for this problem, as well as a single-drug rehabilitation method where a drug was given and a "combination method of either a drug or food." Most of these pills were oral tablets, though a few patients were also treated through topical and transurethral means. Erectile dysfunctions were treated with tested drugs in the Islamic world since the 9th century until the 16th century. Modern drug therapy for erectile dysfunction made a significant advance in 1983. But new method was not popular among the patients because they were painful (injections in penis) and sometimes could possibly lead to a more serious problems.
